Summer Associates

Every year Fowler White Boggs recruits law students from all across the country for our summer associate program.  Our summer associate program is designed for second-year law students interested in permanent employment after graduation.  We recruit those with superior academic credentials and an entrepreneurial spirit. We prefer well-rounded candidates and consider many factors such as:

  • Prior work experience
  • Leadership in extracurricular activities
  • An entrepreneurial mindset to build and grow our business
  • Community involvement

Our summer associate program is designed for second-year law students interested in permanent employment with us after graduation. Fowler White Boggs summer associates do not rotate through practice areas. All summer associate assignments are entered into an electronic program to ensure each summer associate receives an array of assignments both in practice areas and attorneys.  Emphasis is given to the summer associate that expresses an interest so that he or she may devote additional time to their preferred area of law.

As a firm, we’ve long recognized the benefits of diversity and our attorneys and staff are representative of the communities we serve.  We strive to be the leader among law firms embracing diversity within the firm by the active recruitment, development and retention while fostering diverse leadership throughout the firm.

We are proud to be an inaugural member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD). This groundbreaking organization is a cooperative effort between general counsels and managing partners of major corporations and law firms dedicated to making significant, tangible progress on diversity by developing specific goals, implementing measurable metrics and rewarding definitive results.

As a member of the LCLD, we are pleased to offer a 1L Diversity Scholars Fellowship in our Tampa office, which will provide a diverse first-year law student with the opportunity to join our 2012 Summer Associate Program and work with attorneys, paralegals, and other specialists. The firm actively recruits students and participates in minority job fairs at law schools with diverse populations in our local market, including the Southeastern Minority Job Fair and BLSA Southern Regional Convention.  The firm belongs to the USLFG Committee on Racial & Ethnic Diversity and the Committee on Recruiting and Professional Development which meet annually to address recruiting, retention and diversity best practices.
