Administrative Actions and Lobbying
Businesses, corporations, not-for-profits and other organizations must increasingly face the challenges presented by government-related interests in an expanding, ever-changing legislative and administrative landscape at the federal, state and local levels.
For more than fifteen years, Fowler White’s Administrative Actions and Lobbying Group has been ranked among the leaders within this field. Most recently, the Firm was ranked #1 in Florida in Administrative Law by The Best Lawyers in America 2008 edition, with four lawyers in this practice recognized as Best Lawyers in Administrative law. Attorneys use their legal, political, and governmental experience to represent a wide range of clients before executive and legislative branches of state government, and leverage those relationships to the federal levels as needed. Our clients include industry leaders in development, telecommunications, information technology, energy, financial services, health care, hospitality, education, agriculture, manufacturing, and economic development, as well as local governments and small businesses.
Environmental, Land and Real Estate
The members of the Administrative and Legislative Advocacy Group also work very closely with others in the Government, Environmental and Land(GEL) Department, which includes the Environmental, Land Use and Real Estate practices. Lawyers work with the GEL Department to handle numerous administrative issues before the Division of Administrative Hearings, legislative bodies, and federal, state and local administrative agencies. Attorneys litigate on administrative and appellate levels regarding land use, growth management and environmental matters, including comprehensive plan and amendment consistency cases, land development regulations, development orders, and dredge and fill permitting. The Administrative Actions and Lobbying Practice also represents clients at local government hearings and assists them by drafting agreements, restrictive covenants, and briefs for appeal of local government actions.
In addition, those within the practice handle government contracting, bid disputes with federal, state and local entities, and regularly assist in obtaining government resources for projects and developments.
Together, these two groups comprise the Administrative and Legislative Advocacy Practice, serving all sectors of business and government in a wide range of industries.
