Tampa, FL – Hunter J. Brownlee, a shareholder with the law firm of Fowler White Boggs, was recently selected to participate in the Tampa Connection Class of 2009-2010. The Tampa Connection helps to prepare business professionals to become active volunteers and leaders in the Tampa Bay community while building professional relationships.
In addition to workshops introducing participants to local and regional issues, The Tampa Connection class members partner with nonprofit agencies to develop and implement comprehensive service projects that address current community needs, donating more than 1,500 hours of volunteer service hours annually during the nine-month program. Service projects are selected based on current community needs and often continue after each class ends.
Mr. Brownlee is a Board Certified tax attorney who specializes in the areas of federal and state and local taxation. He provides clients with advice regarding income tax planning, like-kind exchanges and structuring of mergers and acquisitions. In addition, he represents clients in Florida Department of Revenue administrative actions, provides corporate structuring advice, including advice on sales tax and income tax nexus, and advises on the applicability of Florida documentary stamp taxes, sales tax and corporate income tax in business transactions. Mr. Brownlee received his J.D., cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law in 2001 and a dual B.A., magna cum laude, from Stetson University in 1998.
