TAMPA, FL –Fowler White Boggs, one of Florida’s most well established and distinguished law firms, is pleased to announce that Thomas Dearing has been named the firm’s General Counsel.
Mr. Dearing, who is the managing shareholder of Fowler White’s Jacksonville office has also served on the firm’s Board of Directors. “Tom Dearing is well respected in his area of practice and possesses the experience and professionalism needed to fulfill the position,” said Rhea Law, Fowler White’s Chief Executive Officer. “This is an extremely important position for any large law firm, and no one could be more qualified than Tom Dearing.”
Dearing has focused his practice in the area of commercial and business litigation, specifically disputes involving real property, lending institutions, insurers and other corporate and individual business clients. Besides serving on Fowler White’s Board, he has served as lateral hiring shareholder and has chaired the firm’s Banking and Financial Services Industry Team.
He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Business Law and Litigation Sections as well as the Florida Bar’s Business Litigation Section. He served on the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Board of Directors from 1980 to 1984. He has been active in the American Cancer Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida, and the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
