David C. Thompson has over 16 years of experience in the legal field and has a diverse resume which reflects the experience he has gained from working in corporate, intellectual property, litigation and employment and labor law.  David honed his skills in intellectual property, corporate and litigation work in Silicon Valley and Sacramento before coming to Florida and immersing himself in the field of employment and labor law. 

Representative Experience

• In his capacity as an employment and labor law paralegal is experienced with both the state and federal litigation process, as well as matters involving the Division of Administrative Hearings and the EEOC.
• Identified the use of Sanction trial software as an emerging trend in the practice of civil litigation and effectively lobbied for its purchase and use by the litigation department.
• Preparing and filing incorporation documents with Secretary of State and maintenance of corporate minute books, as well as experience with initial public offerings and review and analysis of real estate contracts.
• Experience with all phases of international and domestic trademark registration prosecution including assisting client marketing departments with the development of a branding strategy for the international market.  As a trademark paralegal worked with litigation department in establishing protocols for the development of an intellectual property litigation department.
• Supervised discovery team consisting of case assistants, paralegals, and attorneys in connection with the merger of two prominent software companies which was overseen by the Department of Justice for issues involving market monopoly.
• Intellectual property litigation involving dispute between competing Japanese gaming software developers.
